Exposing the Truth Behind “Signs & Wonders” Movement

I made this video after praying for about a year and a half for understanding and discernment on the wild revivals sweeping America. I used to go to a church that participated in these revivals, and I felt a lot of confusion, guilt and never really understood what was going on. NOW finally, I found a video created by an ex-preacher who was a revivalist who held the services, prayed for healing and stirred things up in his ministry. After reading the Word of God, and praying, he turned from his life as a popular preacher and evangelist, to share the TRUTH of God’s Word and WARN others about the stuff he was involved in. (To Read On, please scroll down below the video)

This man’s name is Mark Haville. I admire him for the courage he has to give back by sharing the TRUTH of what he did in his ministry, and what many others are doing today -- people like: Patricia King, Todd Bentley, John Crowder -- just to name a few. He basically admits to deceiving others through the power of suggestion, hypnosis and other tactics -- I think everyone should see this.

You can watch the short Youtube video Interview with Mark:

To watch the two full length videos Mark Haville created for free -- go here.

His videos were created by numerous experts -- psychologists, hypnotherapists and more. They are there to tell you how the Revivals are setup -- to create an atmosphere to put people in a certain state of mind and mood, to stir up expectancy and to use the power of suggestion and hypnosis to really stir things up. I have been to these services years ago and I know what they are like -- as many do. I am not here to judge others but to share the TRUTH. Be careful because often at these revivals people are praying to “IMPART” God’s Holy Spirit or His Anointing on you or his “Glory,” etc -- but what you need to know is that you need to Seek God first, and He will provide you with Gifts, Grace and whatever He WILLS (not us) in HIS time (not ours). Many of these people are experimenting into new age paganistic rituals mixed with Christianity, and just because they are preaching in the Name Of Jesus, doesn’t mean they are really doing His Work.

    Hi Holy,
Thanks for this information. Very good stuff!

“For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” Matthew 24:24.

I was attending a church for several months and I started to get a sense that something is not quite right. It is a small church and there is an anointing there. But some of the people had been involved in some of these so called “revivals” in Florida. The church website also has a bunch of links to and the elders must be followers of people like Rick Joyner and Peter Wagner of the NAR “movement”. (New Apostolic Reformation)
One Sunday the worship leader jumped into the center aisle and started shaking all over and said that God was sending a river of gold down through the center aisle and if we would just get into it he would release some sort of blessing on us. THAT WAS IT!
I just can’t bring myself to go back.
So this type of false signs and wonders is wide spread. I believe God is going to bring judgment on these who mislead the flock but we must be praying for discernment.

It is really sad and all I can say is pray for these people who are in deception and pray for those who are propagating this stuff.

The word of God is sharper than a two edge sword and it is our plumb line!
    God bless you! Sara

ps, I like your new site. Now is the time!!

Hi Sara, Thank you so much for visiting and for sharing your experience. I used to attend a church that occasionally had revival services just like that. I was 14 and I accepted it, yet with knowing what God’s presence really felt like, from my personal experience (away from church) – I didn’t understand what was happening at the church. I am amazed with you and happy that your eyes are opened and you could see the absurdity in all that. I understand there are so many good people who genuinely are seeking God and they want so badly to believe in what is happening at those revival services, that they just *believe* and participate in it. But although God wants us to have faith, he wants us to be WISE and to question things and seek HIM before all the feelings! Anyway, thank you so much Sara and I hope you visit here again – I will checkout your blog too! Take care. :)

    Hey Holly,

This is an awesome blog, thanks for creating it. I just wanted to say that there are REAL miracles and people do get healed. I am just a regular guy who does not ever want a “ministry” but have seen lots of people get healed and miracles happen right in front of my eyes. So, even though there are fakes out there, there are most definately REAL ones too..

    Holly,
Thanks for your videos and testimony. We live by faith not by sight, we need more people speaking up on this issue. We must stand on His word and not feelings. Hope you and your son are well, for our son’s sake we must let the truth of God’s word be known. John Kim

I am going through this right now. I have friends who are into this. They believe that God has to heal and that they can make God heal them. its the same sorta stuff I think. Im trying to sort things out by using the bible, but i wonder if its worth my time. On utube I see some of the atheists turned away from Jesus because of this movement. I am very encouraged to see that your faith wasn’t shipwrecked because of this movement. Im glad…

Thank you for this very informative article, plus the videos. My wife and I participated in a multi-cultural, neo-Pentecostal church for four years, where there was tremendous emphasis on “the spirit realm.” At the start, it seemed to be fully rooted in the word, but in the last year or so, the written word of God was repeatedly contradicted by personal revelations “seen in the spirit realm.”

There are a great many churches that take the promises of God literally, and I fully support them, and some of them have true signs and wonders according to the written word of God, but I am dubious regarding most churches involved in the “Signs and Wonders” Movement, as they tend not to test these phenomena against Scripture.

Almost invariably, such groups tend to elevate celebrity personalities as authoritative beyond the Bible, and that indicates that, rather than the Holy Spirit, there’s a man at the center of it.

How can any group that elevates the “Man of God” (aren’t we ALL men and women of God?)think that they are not engaging in idolatry?
